About Us

When you look for a fishing experience local knowledge is just so important. This website is designed to help you to fish successfully in new locations. If we can’t provide up top date advice we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
Firstly I’d like to make it clear that we are passionate flyfishers and we are often fishing many waters and meeting interesting people. We no longer organise fishing expeditions but are always pleased to recommend a guide, location of approach. We consider this to be a huge privilege and we go to great lengths to ensure that the whole experience is something you’ll remember for a long time to come.
So all in all we hope that you see us as your source of good information that you can rely upon and most importantly as your new Aussie mate. That is what we see as the most important thing.
I get to ensure the web site is up to speed, go flyfishing a lot along with a lot more that I get involved in. My background is the Australian Army and I was privileged to be located in some of Australia’s prime fly fishing regions such as the Northern Territory and Tasmania. During my four years in Darwin I fell in love with the Barramundi and to this day consider myself to be a specialist in targeting Barra on fly.
I live with my wife Sue at Mooloolaba on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast which is an hours drive north of Brisbane. For those of you who have heard of the late Steve Irwin well his Australia Zoo is about 20 minutes away at Beerwah. The Sunshine Coast has some fabulous fly fishing and early in the year turns on some of the hottest Tuna fishing able to be experienced worldwide, and just off the tourist beaches.
So when you send me an email it will be me at the other end asking all those seemingly silly questions. But the more I know the more I am able to recommend the best flyfishing option for you.

Often found in the most remote areas of Australia he and his wife Judy travel in their caravan aptly called the “Wombat”. Waynes is also known by that name and is an accomplished artist.
